Brent Carter, SSC
Head Coach
Brent Carter has been a Starting Strength Coach since 2013 and a Seminar Staff Coach since 2014, coaching Starting Strength Seminars across the US. Prior to his involvement with Starting Strength he received his degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences from Texas Tech University with emphasis in biomechanics and exercise physiology. Brent has been coaching clients of all populations and with various goals since 2004. In 2008 Brent moved to NYC to work with a boutique training company specializing in high profile clientele which lead to a career in education developing curriculum for trainers through a state licensed vocational school. After growing a successful Barbell team and group training class (winning three strongest team titles in the USSF) Brent Carter left NY to become the Dallas Fort-Worth Area Developer and lead Starting Strength Coach with plans to open three Starting Strength Gyms in the Metroplex.
Jordan Burnett, SSC
Strength Coach
Jordan Burnett has been in the Fitness industry since 2017. He developed a roster of clients from varying demographics, using barbell training to get them stronger and move them toward their fitness goals. Jordan was taken on as an apprentice coach under Brent Carter, SSC at Starting Strength Dallas when they opened in July of 2019, and went on to earn the Starting Strength Coach credential in March of 2020.

Michael Jones
Strength Coach
Michael Jones has been a strength coach since 2019 for an east Dallas high school football team who went to the state championship for the first time the same year. He began apprentice coaching at Starting Strength Dallas in July 2019 as well, having completed the Starting Strength Coach development course in March of 2020; he also attended the Starting Strength Seminar the following September. Before the Dallas location opened, he received online coaching from Joe Jalosynzski, SSC and attended the Starting Strength squat workshop with Darin Deaton, SSC. He played rugby for SMU and was remote coached briefly for Olympic weightlifting by Tommy Kono. During his time at SMU, he interned with the strength and conditioning coach for SMU football, Vic Viloria. He is currently doing doctoral work in philosophy, holds a M.A. from University of Texas at Dallas with a dual concentration— one in continental philosophy and one in literary criticism— and holds a B.A. in philosophy from Southern Methodist Univ
David Hernandez
Strength Coach
David Hernandez has been an apprentice coach at Starting Strength Dallas since October 2019. With guidance from SSCs Brent Carter and Jordan Burnett, he has completed the Starting Strength Coach development course and is working his way toward an SSC credential. He has also attended workshops on the Olympic lifts and the Squat held by SSCs Josh Wells and Nick Delgadillo, respectively. David is also co-owner of the small business "Pita's Planters" and received a B.S. in Communication Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
